RiverNet is designed to bring you the latest information on the water quality in select rivers of North Carolina.
Project Status
We currently have seven monitoring stations deployed in the Neuse and Cape Fear River Basins. These stations monitor a variety of water quality indicators such as depth, pH, dissolved oxygen, nitrogen, turbidity and water temperature.

Current station locations:
  • Seven Springs Installed on April 24, 2000
  • Fort Barnwell Installed on July 18, 2000
  • Grifton Installed on July 26, 2000
  • Clayton Installed on April 6, 2001
  • Auburn-Knightdale Rd. Installed on February 21, 2003
  • Tomahawk Installed on May 28, 2010
  • Great Coharie Installed on June 17, 2010


Past station locations:
  • Smithfield Installed on June 21, 2001 (Removed on August 25th, 2011)
  • Hookerton Installed on August 19, 2001 (Removed on January 8th, 2004)
  • Bear Creek Installed on April 11, 2002 (Removed on July 14th, 2003)
  • Six Runs Creek Installed on June 10, 2010 (Removed on August 18th, 2011)
  • Little Coharie Installed on June 24, 2010 (Removed on August 18th, 2011)
